As a member of Ballymena Golf Club since 1975 it is a great honour and privilege to have been elected Captain for 2008.

I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead and to the improvements that we have planned for the Course and Clubhouse that will not only benefit club members but also our very many welcome visitors.

I look forward to welcoming visiting teams to Ballymena and I wish our own club teams every success for the year and hope that some of those teams will bring silverware back to the club.

The club has recently appointed a new General manager to ensure the smooth running of the club and to assist in our progression over the coming years.

I am very excited about my appointment as General Manager at Ballymena Golf Club.

This is a new and exciting era for me personally and the club in General, with plans already underway for Course and Clubhouse development.

In what is now a very competitive marketplace we aim to establish Ballymena Golf Club and place it firmly at the forefront of local golf.

The planned changes will more than enhance what we already have and will undoubtedly benefit members and visitors alike.

I joined Ballymena Golf Club in 2003 as a non golfer and soon afterwards the club captain and committee soon had me playing with the right handicap and participating in matchplay against other clubs, now I am Ladies Captain for 2008.

The Ladies branch began back in 1903 with only two members and now we have 100 affiliated to the Irish Ladies Golf union.

Ladies day is every Tuesday and we compete for cups and trophies and also on some sponsored open days.

Ballymena is a good Professionally run course which lends itself to all categories of player with a good Pro Shop, excellent Bar and restaurant and very approachable Management.
